I have always had a fascination with this quote since it was introduced to me in world history. Somehow I was born to love harmony, peace, and I distinctly remember wearing a peace sign on my hand in seventh grade when they bombed Baghdad. The nonviolent protest movement is something I love and admire and utilize in my own share of the new civil rights movement in this country.

That is my philosophy. An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. Gandhi and King stood by what they said and refused to back down. It won them rights, maybe cost them their life, but they had unshakable faith in their beliefs.

I know what I believe and I know who I am. Even listing out all that I am labels and devalues those facets of my personality; those who know me understand those facets without me enumerating them. Those who do not know me must take my work at face value, my words at face value, and hopefully will not jump to conclusions, be quick to judge, and otherwise hasty in their doings and sayings. Judgment is conducted by everyone, whether meant or not, and one cannot escape it. One can only hope to be judged fairly in the eyes of the law, humanity, and God. And one can only hope that communities of peers or other people with similar interests (even those marginalized by society or conventions) may find support and care, if not acceptance at the very least.

I can only say that I know what I believe. I know what I do, what I say, what I draw. Apologies are sought, but the truth is overlooked and contorted in battles of diction, webs of deceit, jealousies, and petty feuds that are sought to be perpetuated for the sake of a few. I know what I documented, how I documented, the credit I gave and the corrections I made to give the proper credit. I am sorry that a difference of a few words on one site means a complete and irrevocable distortion. I am sorry feelings, opinions, egos got hurt. I am sorry we disagree on the aforementioned issues. I am sorry that my self-removal from said situation equates to cowardice in the minds of some. I am sorry people are so hasty to trust, and so hasty to distrust in a cyber-world where it is easy to hide, and bully, and not deal with the repercussions of actions. I am sorry if this is taken the wrong way and once again misconstrued.

I am sorry I have to see hypocrisy.
